Here is something unusual.

Several years ago I found some articles about experiments with producing fantastic translucent leathers by danish brand Ecco, which unlike many other footwear brands has it's own tanneries. This was the same Ecco that had never caught my attention before.
It also turned out that some more artisanal and avant-garde brands used it's leathers to produce outstanding clothing and footwear.

These Ecco boots are not translucent, but they definitely deserve attention with their sleek shape, minimalistic construction and ergonomic comfort engineering — artisanal leather upper meets comfortable footbed and rubber outsole.

Feel free to try on if you wear 26-26.5 cm.
These fit snug with a little low instep, the leather is conditioned but firm — might take some work to break in.
I really hope that they find a fan of backzip boots that will wear them a lot.
